A headteacher will leave Halstead’s only secondary school in a “far stronger position” when he quits this summer, his bosses claim.
Dan Gee will leave Ramsey Academy in the summer to take up a position at Bromfords School in Wickford.
The executive headteacher of the trust which sponsors the school insists his departure will not affect ongoing work to improve standards.
Mr Gee took charge at the Colne Road school in September 2012, following a damning Ofsted report which led to it being placed in special measures.
Within a year, teachers and pupils were celebrating after Ofsted rated Ramsey as “good” and deemed special monitoring was no longer required.
