A tablet computer was stolen after intruders broke into a house through a rear patio door.

Police are appealing for information about the burglary in Blamsters Crescent, Halstead, on Tuesday.

The thieves broke into the property and made a messy search of the bedroom before stealin an Apple Macbook Pro with a 13.3 inch screen.

The break-in took place between 8.40am and 1.40pm.

After making house-to-house enquiries, police are appealing for information, including sightings of suspicious people or vehicles in the area during that time.

Officers also want to hear from anyone who has been offered an Apple Macbook.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Pc Victoria Butler at Braintree CID on 101.
