Care service receives inspection boost

Halstead Gazette: Care service receives inspection boost Care service receives inspection boost

A care service manager believes a positive inspection report is testament to the hard work of his staff.

Greenfield Care, based in Chapel Road, Ridgewell, makes home visits to elderly and disabled people in Halstead and surrounding villages.

It was praised for the quality of its service in a report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), published this month.

The service, which currently has 32 clients, has 22 staff who provide care across north Essex and Suffolk.

Manager Glenn Evans said: “Lots of this is down to the girls who work for us and I wanted them recognised as well.

“We go out into the sticks quite a lot to visit people, but one of our main policies is if we know we can’t take something on, we won’t - we are just up front and honest.”

The CQC report said: “We saw that people's needs were assessed and care was provided in line with their individual care plan.

“These incorporated an assessment of risks and risk management plans that ensured people's safety.

“We saw evidence that these were reviewed regularly.”

Greenfield Care was set up by Mr Evans, who has worked in the home care industry for most of his career, in 2010.

The business’ leadership, the kindness of staff and the level of support provided to clients were all praised by inspectors.
