Teenagers have celebrated finishing a crash course in life as a firefighter.
The youngsters from seven schools in Halstead, Braintree and Witham took part in the Essex fire service cadet course at Halstead Fire Station.
During their 17 weeks of training, they climbed the training fire, learned how to use hoses and practised how to find casualties in confined spaces.
