Wellwishers have launched a fundraising drive to help parents struggling to pay for a headstone for their four-year-old son.
Mackenzie Cackett, of Juniper Close, Halstead, died last June following a two-year battle with cancer.
Parents Danielle Uren and James Cackett, who had to take more than six months off work to be by his bedside, had managed to scrape together £600 for a deposit on a headstone.
They had planned to pay off the full £3,600 cost with monthly payments.
But Braintree Council benefits officers Clare Dawson and Jo Mayne, who had been working with them, have launched a fundraising campaign.
