BRAINTREE TOWN ended their long wait for a National League South win following a 1-0 triumph over Tonbridge Angels.

Kyran Clements' 20th-minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides at the Dunmow Group Stadium.

It was Braintree's first league win since August 21.

It was only Braintree's second win of the season and lifted them to 19th spot in the table.

In the Pitching In Isthmian League Premier, BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT were thrashed 6-1 at Carshalton Athletic.

The R's fell two down to goals from Daniel Hector and Daniel Bennett but Valter Cachicote da Rocha pulled a goal back.

However, further strikes from Bennett, Jordan Cheadle, Daniel Bassett and Jalen Jones sealed the hosts' victory.

In division north, HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS beat Great Wakering Rovers, 3-2.

Lionel Ainsworth gave Swifts a 19th-minute lead and Lewis Gard added to it, on the half hour.

Jack Adlington-Pile made it 3-0 after the break and although Martin Tuohy and Lewis Jaggs gave the visitors hope, it was not enough to stop Steve Tilson's side from claiming victory.

MALDON AND TIPTREE won 3-0 at WITHAM TOWN.

Goals from Charlee Hughes, Scott Kemp and Martyn Stokes sealed the Jammers' win.

In the Essex Senior League, STANWAY ROVERS were 5-0 winners over Takeley.

Goals from Ernest Okoh, Lewis Francis and Danny Nesbitt gave Stanway a 3-0 lead at half-time.

And Sean Bartlett scored a second-half brace to seal Stanway's win.

LITTLE OAKLEY were 2-1 winners at Woodford Town to claim back-to-back victories for the first time this season, in the league.

Goals from Dan Rowe and Danny Garrad secured the Acorns' win.

FC CLACTON won 3-2 at Saffron Walden Town.

Mekhi McKenzie scored twice and Charlie Collis was also on target as the Seasiders secured their first victory under head coach David Collis.

All five goals came in the last quarter of an hour of the match.

In Thurlow Nunn League first division south, HARWICH AND PARKESTON beat Brimsdown 3-1 to secure their second league win of the season.

A brace from Jamie Eades and another goal from Jay Eggerichs secured the Shrimpers' victory.

WIVENHOE TOWN lost 3-0 at Benfleet while HOLLAND FC lost by the same scoreline at home to Buckhurst Hill.
