HALSTEAD Town ran out convincing 5-0 winners over Park View at Milbanks, in their latest Thurlow Nunn League first division south match, writes KEN GILLIARD.

Joe Thomas' free-kick was turned away by Haidara for a corner early on, before Halstead took the lead after 13 minutes.

Jordan Blackwell cut in from the right and planted a shot past the Park View keeper to give the Humbugs the lead, from Alfie Cleal's threaded pass.

Adam Hampson spurned two good opportunities and then saw his effort from Matt Travell's cross roll just the wrong side of the far upright.

Jake Brown's effort flashed wide of the near post but Park View should have equalised just before the break when Jack Cherry spread himself well to deny Fuseini, who had found himself unmarked six yards from goal.

Halstead went in at the break ahead and went close through Chris Harris before the hosts were awarded a penalty just before the hour when Blackwell got behind the visitors' defence and was bundled to the ground.

Fuseini was duly shown a second yellow and with Park View reduced to ten men, Thomas stepped up and dispatched the kick with ease.

Two minutes later, Cleal got on the scoresheet for the third successive match.

Blackwell was played in down the right and his centre was met at the back post by Cleal, whose left foot did the rest.

Appiah's effort was saved by the feet of Cherry while Ageyman's long rangy run was stopped by Nick Miller's excellent tackle and block.

The visitors had a strong period but they got hit on the break by Halstead as Blackwell again got away on the right and his cross was forced home by substitute Jordan Palmer.

Halstead wrapped up their win when Harris's determined work saw him deliver an inch-perfect cross for Travell to plant his header firmly passed the keeper for number five.

Halstead Town: Jack Cherry, Ryan Carter, Matt Travell, Nick Miller (Callum Tracey), Jack Schelvis, Joe Thomas, Alfie Cleal, Jake Brown (Greg Strong), Chris Harris, Jordan Blackwell, Adam Hampson (Jordan Palmer).
