Gareth Ainsworth has praised his squad after Wycombe secured their second consecutive 0-0 draw of the season.

The Chairboys shared the points with Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night following on from their stalemate against Brentford on Saturday.

This now means that the Adams Park outfit have only lost one of their last six games, and the gaffer is hoping to secure their third win of the season against a Derby County side who are bottom of the table.

Speaking after the draw against Huddersfield, Ainsworth said: “A clean sheet is fantastic to build on and if we keep them every week, we’ll be by far in the Championship next season.

“That is something to be proud of – a bit of magic at the other end which we almost had with Fred, Scott, Garath and Daryl all having chances, and I thought Josh Knight had a legitimate penalty claim as I think his shirt was pulled, and Bayo always has his shirt pulled, and I was a bit disappointed to not get more decisions on that but I’m proud of the boys.

“This bunch is fantastic to work with and I love every single one of them as they give me everything.

“We’ve learnt so much [since the 5-0 defeat to Blackburn] and I think that is a real positive on our coaching staff, as they’re seeing this differently.

“The players are learning as they go which is a great sign, and I think there are certain teams that have started well but are having a wobble now.

“We’re definitely not wobbling now.

“We started with a wobble but we’re learning and we’re building.”

It was the 11th time that Wycombe had played Huddersfield in their history, with Tuesday's result being the third draw between the two sides.

The previous two draws were also 0-0.
