MALDON AND TIPTREE marched on to the FA Cup first round proper for the second successive season following an impressive 1-0 win over Pitching In League Premier side Haringey Borough.

An 88th-minute penalty from substitute Shomari Barnwell sealed the Jammers victory in their fourth qualifying round home tie at Park Drive, booking them a place in tomorrow night’s draw alongside the likes of Colchester United and Southend United.

The Jammers, who reached the FA Cup second round proper last season beating Leyton Orient along the way, have enjoyed a fantastic start to the new season and the win is a huge achievement.

In the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, STANWAY ROVERS were beaten 1-0 by Gorleston, at the Hawthorns while BRANTHAM ATHLETIC continued their unbeaten start with a 2-1 win at Godmanchester.

Two goals from Karl Swanborough and one from Ross James completed a turnaround win for WIVENHOE TOWN as they beat Benfleet 3-1at Broad Lane in first division south, while HARWICH AND PARKESTON drew 1-1 with Barkingside with Jamie Beecham on target.
