COLCHESTER United winger Callum Harriott is in the running for a monthly award.

The U's attacker's wonder goal against Macclesfield Town last month has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month Award for January.

Harriott's superb long-range strike helped Colchester beat the Silkmen 2-1, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

When Harriott collected the ball, there was nothing on until he accelerated, drove into space and unleashed a wickedly disguised, dipping piledriver into the far top corner.

Harriott has been nominated for the League Two award, along with Walsall's Wes McDonald for his superb effort against Crawley Town and Arthur Gnahoua of Macclesfield, who scored with a 30-yard volley against Forest Green Rovers.
