THERE was no doubting the game of the day in the Thurlow Nunn League.

FC CLACTON and Thetford Town shared the spoils from an incredible ten-goal thriller at the Austin Arena.

The tempo was set with two goals in the first ten minutes, of the premier division contest.

Kevin Coyle put the Seasiders ahead but Thetford levelled.

Karl Andrade tapped home from close range but the visitors equalised just after the half-hour mark, from the penalty spot.

Thetford then scored again and led at the interval but Harry McDonald's long-range strike made it 3-3.

Coyle added his second but Thetford equalised again before nosing in front, making it 5-4.

However, Clacton were not to be denied and Ricky Griggs' corner deflected into the net off a Thetford head.

It was the final act of a breathless contest.

Elsewhere, STANWAY ROVERS continued their strong form with a 2-1 victory at home to Mildenhall Town while BRANTHAM ATHLETIC were 3-0 winners at Long Melford.

Harrison Bacon, Joss Neale and Patrick Brothers scored in an excellent Imps performance.

It was a quieter day in first division south, with no match for either leaders LITTLE OAKLEY or HARWICH AND PARKESTON.

HALSTEAD TOWN came away with maximum points from an incident-packed 4-3 victory at Newbury Forest.

Jamie Baker scored the all-important winning goal with virtually the last kick of the game.
