SOUTHEND United youngster Richard Taylor is in line for his League debut this weekend.
The Shrimpers face a shortage of centre-backs for Saturday’s clash against Oxford United with John White, Joe Shaughnessy, Harry Lennon and Liam Ridgewell all ruled out.
And Blues boss Sol Campbell could opt to select the 19-year-old who started against AFC Wimbledon in the Leasing.com Trophy last week.
“We’ve got some injuries and other scenarios but for a young lad Richard’s done really, really well,” said Campbell.
“It’s not easy coming in to make your debut. It’s exciting but he’s done really well and can be happy with his performance.
“He’s part of the team and can fill that left hand side for us.”
