SOUTHEND United defender Jason Demetriou wants his spell with Cyprus to transform his season with the Shrimpers.
Demetriou - who has struggled to break into the Shrimpers’ side in recent weeks - impressed in his country’s 2-1 defeat to Scotland on Saturday.
And the experienced defender now wants to bring that form back to Roots Hall.
“It was so frustrating to lose the game because we should have won but I really enjoyed being out there,” said Demetriou.
“I got up and down the pitch and I felt really good.
“Hopefully people at the club saw it on the television and I can get another chance when I’m back because it’s been a frustrating time.”
