BACK-ROW forward Jackson Wray is looking forward to seeing what Saracens' crop of youngsters can produce in Europe.

Saracens launch their European Champions Cup campaign with a tough away clash against Racing 92 in Paris on Sunday.

The club face a 35-point deduction in addition to a fine of more than £5million if any appeal against a penalty for breaching the salary cap is not successful.

And with a potential relegation battle on the cards, director of rugby Mark McCall hinted that the club would prioritise the Gallagher Premiership meaning a more youthful team will be given opportunities in Europe.

Wray told Saracens.com: "It's an unbelievable opportunity for us to go and show what the club means again.

"There's going to be people getting opportunities obviously this weekend who haven't played in Europe yet, haven't tasted it and see what it's about.

"We're not just dipping our toe in, we're going to Racing so it's going to be a brilliant weekend to be honest and I'm excited for these boys to have their first taste of it but also excited to see how good we can actually be.

"We've been very good for the first four weeks and now it's about taking it to that new level to see how we go - but I'm really looking forward to it and I know all the boys are as well.

"I think it will be a different kind of challenge going there.

"In general, going to France is always difficult but it has a different atmosphere to it but again it's only really something we can relish if we really want to and I think this group is in a good place to do that.

"As I say we're looking to go over there and show what we've got and see how good this team can be against a very, very good Racing side."

Wray, a former King John School pupil, will continue as captain and will lead a team that contains three tournament debutants.

Fly-half Manu Vunipola and winger Rotimi Segun made their European bows, while hooker Jack Singleton, who has featured in the Challenge Cup, is selected on his second appearance for his hometown club.

Academy trio Sam Crean, Joel Kpoku and Sean Reffell could earn their first European stripes from the bench.

World Cup stars Dan Biggar, Cobus Reinach, Piers Francis, Courtney Lawes, and Lewis Ludlam all return for Northampton for their clash with Lyon.

Ireland centre Bundee Aki will make his first appearance since the World Cup in Connacht's encounter with Montpellier.
