SOUTHEND United boss Sol Campbell fears the Shrimpers are scared to score.

Blues have hit the back of the net just twice in Campbell’s first four games in charge.

And Campbell fears the team must change their mental approach to become more prolific.

“We’re getting a bit better at the back but the middle third and the last third it’s almost like we’re scared to score,” said Campbell.

“We’ve got to believe we can score.

“We take too many touches to get into a shooting position and we’re going around it the wrong way.

"I don’t know if it’s a mental block but it’s definitely about confidence because of where we are in the League.

"But everyone has to be invested in us taking these golden opportunities.”
