North Essex non-league football clubs remaining in the FA Trophy can all look forward to home draws in the next round but those still in the FA Vase will find themselves on the road as they look for further progress.

The draw for the Trophy's first qualifying round was held alongside the draw for the second round proper of the Vase, with a number of north Essex sides having an interest in proceedings.

In the Vase, FC Clacton, Stanway Rovers and Coggeshall United have all been handed away ties.

Thurlow Nunn League division one south Coggeshall's reward for beating Brantham Athletic on Saturday is a trip to another step five club as they will head to Newport Pagnell Town of the Spartan South Midlands League premier division.

Meanwhile, Stanway will be making a long trip to Lincolnshire to head to ‎United Counties League premier division side Deeping Rangers and FC Clacton are also on the road.

The Seasiders don't know where they will be going yet, though, as they will have to wait until a first round replay is resolved between Biggleswade Town and Essex Senior League high-fliers Saffron Walden Town.

While all the local clubs are travelling in the Vase, there are no such problems for north Essex sides still in the FA Trophy.

After their emphatic win against Cray Valley PM last weekend, Maldon & Tiptree host another Cray side - this time Cray Wanderers - in the first qualifying round and Heybridge Swifts will also entertain BetVictor Isthmian League premier division opposition as Potters Bar Town visit.

For Brightlingsea Regent, it will be a first taste of Trophy action this season when Southern League premier division central side Royston Town head to the Taydal Stadium, while Witham Town will host Barton Rovers in the first qualifying round.

Barton play in Southern League division one central, however, Witham will have to first get past Ashford United in a preliminary round replay at the Simarco Stadium on Tuesday night after they drew 2-2 on Saturday.
