BRAINTREE TOWN got their Vanarama National League South campaign up and running with a much-needed 3-0 victory at St Albans City tonight.
Glen Driver’s new-look side had lost their opening three fixtures, culminating with a disappointing 4-0 reverse at home to Wealdstone on Saturday.
However, they put their first points on the board thanks to an impressive performance in Hertfordshire.
Their opening two goals came in the latter stages of the first half.
Adam Mills broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark and it was followed by a quickfire second from Femi Akinwande.
Michael Clark then made the points safe in the last few seconds – sparking wild celebrations among the Iron faithful.
