UNBEATEN light-heavyweight Dan Azeez has championed the MTK Fight Night series as he ramps up his pursuit of domestic titles.

The rising Essex University Boxing Club member, who is unbeaten in seven bouts as a professional, is eyeing a shot at new English champion Kirk Garvey, who relieved the experienced Miles Shinkwin of the title earlier this month.

With MTK Global shows broadcast on iFL TV gathering momentum and a huge deal with Top Rank and ESPN announced on Monday, Azeez is hopeful his big night is within touching distance.

Azeez said: “I’ve never really been in touch with Kirk Garvey himself – it was more his trainer, Adam, who is a really nice guy.

“At the end of the day, like I’ve said before, I’ve simply got my eyes on the prizes – the Southern Area and the English titles to start with.

“Whoever is holding the titles should know that I’m coming for them. It’s nothing personal. I just want those titles and there is nothing that’s going to stop me.

“These #MTKFightNight shows are wicked. I won’t name names but a lot of the other boxers who are on other small hall shows are always saying to me: ‘Those MTK Global shows look sick!’

"These shows don’t even feel like small hall shows and I’ve boxed at York Hall three times now.

"I can’t wait to be back on another one and maybe it’ll be for one of these titles. Who knows?”

Azeez, whose is unbeaten as a professional in seven bouts including four knockouts, was last in action last month, when he stopped Stanislav Eschner at York Hall.

The #MTKFightNight series now heads to Glasgow for a show at Emirates Arena, tomorrow night.
