ON a day of eye-catching results, there was one that proved extra special in the Thurlow Nunn League.

It involved HARWICH AND PARKESTON, who powered to their seventh straight first division south victory after a spectacular 4-0 win at leaders White Ensign.

It was an outstanding result for Kieron Shelley’s side – deserving of our performance of the day award – and the Shrimpers have now plundered 25 goals in those matches, not losing since October 13.

Jordan Heath scored twice and he was joined on the scoresheet by brother Ryan and Callum Griffith.

Harwich stay fifth while White Ensign drop to second, knocked off top spot by Hashtag United – 3-0 winners at BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT RESERVES.

There was another amazing result at COGGESHALL UNITED, where the hosts put nine goals past Fire United.

George Smith grabbed a hat-trick for the hosts, who kept a clean sheet and powered to their fourth straight win.

LITTLE OAKLEY are another side in form and the Acorns made it three straight wins after a 4-1 success at home to Newbury Forest.

Their goals came from Jay Barker, Greg Rodger, Mark Palmer and Harry Mann.

WIVENHOE TOWN had no game while the matches involving BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES and HOLLAND FC – due to play Hackney Wick and Benfleet respectively – were postponed.

In the premier division, BRANTHAM ATHLETIC drew 1-1 at Woodbridge Town.

Lamell Howell’s corner led to an own goal from the hosts, who then fought back and equalised in the second half.

FC CLACTON had been due to host leaders Histon at the Rush Green Bowl.

However, the match was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Brantham and Clacton are set to meet in a Boxing Day derby, while other games on Thursday include Coggeshall against Braintree’s reserves, Oakley against Harwich and Wivenhoe against Halstead.

STANWAY ROVERS' Essex Senior League match at home to Saffron Walden Town was postponed.
