HOLLAND FC marched into the First Division Knockout Cup quarter-finals after an emphatic 5-2 victory against BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES.

Jimmy Webb and substitute Steve Eaton scored twice, with their other goal coming from Sonny Bastone.

Brent Brojhj and Callum Bailey were on target for the Young Iron.

Holland made a dream start when Webb's precision free-kick gave them an early lead and the same player doubled his tally with an unstoppable volley beyond keeper James Waters.

Bastone extended Holland's half-time lead to 3-0 with a tidy close-range finish after a left-wing cross by skipper Joe Martin.

Brojhj's rising shot gave Braintree hope and Holland were reduced to ten men following a needless red card for Terry Rymer.

However, Eaton stepped off the bench to score two well-taken goals, first connecting with a long ball forward and tucking it inside the right-hand post.

He soon repeated the trick with another great finish, slotting home after a great ball forward from Webb.

Bailey fired home from distance to reduce the arrears but it was too little, too late for Braintree.

Elsewhere on Tuesday evening, BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Wingate and Finchley.

The sides met in a Bostik League premier division clash at the Taydal Stadium.

Charlie Cole scored the only goal on the stroke on half-time.

The only other match of note involved BRANTHAM ATHLETIC as the Imps won 1-0 at Framlingham Town in the Suffolk Premier Cup.

Sam Cole scored their winner early on.
