AN excellent field of seniors turned up for a Summer Medal competition played off the white tees at the Essex Golf and Country Club but no-one could better the scoring of Roger Springett.
Springett recorded a nett 68 from his 12 handicap, that has now been trimmed to 11 after his victory.
His score just edged Springett ahead of Jim Duignan, who also had a nett 68 but was pushed into second by countback, while Paul Eames took third with a nett 71.
Nearest the pin on the par three 11th hole the was Nigel Gaspar.
