JERRY Callow is Colne Valley Golf Club's seniors champion after a narrow victory.
Callow won on gross countback from Bryan Powell after both went round in 85, although Powell had the best net score with a 73 against Callow's 76.
The winner was presented with the cup by last year's winner Geoff Wyatt.
Meanwhile, in the Hunter Foursomes county ladies' competition, two Colne Valley pairs have reached the semi-finals.
Pearl Powell and Rosie Shackell were victorious against their Chelmsford opponents last weekend, winning 2&1.
Celia Larkham and Abigail March have also progressed to the semi-finals, due to their Langdon Hill opponents having to withdraw from the match.
A third pair, Wendy Cook and Hannah Kane, were faced with a difficult match at Stock Brook Manor and eventually lost on the back nine.
The club now awaits the semi-final draw.
Colne Valley's Curry Cup team went down to a narrow defeat at Five Lakes but picked up 8½ points out of the 18 on offer, leaving them on 21½ points from their two opening matches.
They now travel to Felixstowe in the third match in good spirits, before a final home match against Fynn Valley in August.
Group A has seen Three Rivers already complete their campaign and their 40-point haul is a good target.
