HALSTEAD Road Runners' Wes Atkins and Stewart Ellis ran personal bests on the multi-terrain course at the Felixstowe Friday Five at Kirton as both broke the 30-minute barrier.
Atkins finished in 29 minutes 16 seconds, knocking 45 seconds off his previous best, with Ellis just eight seconds behind in 29:24.
Meanwhile, Sam Wolton made his annual visit to the Dartmoor ultra marathon, where he covered the 34 mile distance in seven hours one minute.
There was a small contingent of Road Runners at the Stour Valley Marathon.
The humid weather made the going tough on the beautiful but challenging course, with Rob Frost first back for the club in 14th place overall in a time of 4:07.
For John Warne, it was his fourth marathon in as many weeks and he managed to stick with club-mate Andy Wilmot for the duration as they crossed the line in 5:25.
Sandi Robinson-Miller suffered in the conditions recording a slower time than last year, however, she was happy to finish in 5:52.
Axel Voigt did the Derby Half Marathon in 2h 26m and Charlotte May did some Park Run tourism during a mini break at Mersea Island, coming second in her age category in 30:24.
