LONG-STANDING Braintree Golf Club member Dennis Ott came out on top in the latest Saturday stableford competition.
Despite some very wet greens, he returned 40 points off a handicap of 18 to finish a point ahead of runner-up Tony Craven, off five.
The pair finished well ahead of the field, with Russell Hedges (13) taking third place with 32 points.
The midweek ladies' nine-hole stableford saw Valda Curtis (26) emerge victorious after a countback with Janet White (17) after both returned 19 points.
There was also a countback to decide third place, with Julie Race (9) getting the verdict over Judith Owens (30) as both signed for 18 points.
