HALSTEAD Road Runners' Mike Grealy secured an age group bronze medal in the Essex County Championship at the Tiptree ten-mile road race.

The bright, breezy conditions suited Grealy, who frustratingly missed the V60 silver medal by just one second, however, he is on course to take the overall championship, subject to ratification.

There were great performances also from the in-form Halstead quartet of Tom Porter, Richard Candler, Jon Greenley and Steve May, who were separated over the line by only a few minutes.

RESULTS: Tom Porter 1:09:31, Richard Candler 1:12:02, Jon Greenley 1:13:00, Steve May 1:13:27, Mike Grealy 1:14:42 (Bronze V60)Paul Harrington 1:35:20.

Half-Marathon specialist Adam Buckle completed the Royal Parks Half-Marathon in one hour 59 minutes three seconds.

Richard Tillier also raced over the 13.1 mile distance, however, he opted for Peterborough's Great Eastern Half-Marathon and finished in 1h 47m 25s.

Sam Wolton and Nathan Roulson completed the Bear Grylls 30 kilometre obstacle race, with Roulson finishing in 4h 34m 13s and Wolton back in 5h 6m 24s.
