There was more than a hint of déjà vu about Halstead Town's 2-0 defeat by March Town United.
Just as they had in their previous two outings, Halstead were left ruing a number of missed chances in front of goal as March made them pay with two sucker-punches at the other end.
The Humbugs completely dominated the opening 45 minutes of this Thurlow Nunn League division one game and should have been out of sight by the break.
They are suffering from a lengthy list of injuries, but still created more than enough to have won it and, just as they did in their 2-0 League Cup defeat by Sudbury in midweek, were left to regret not making more of those opportunities.
Manager Mark Benterman said: “We’ve been here for the last three games and it’s disappointing, but as a manager there’s not much else you can do.
“I keep saying the same things – if you don’t take your chances it will come back and bite you.”
March won the game with goals from Dan Woods and Jordan Goult after the break.
