A 14-year-old was threatened by a thug who demanded he hand over his belongings during a robbery.
Essex Police have now launched a police probe into the incident, which saw a teenage boy approached by a man in Laindon Link, at the junction with Great Knightleys in Basildon.
The man demanded he hand over his belongings before threatening the boy.
He has been described to police as around 20 years-old, 6ft tall, slim with slightly curly hair and wearing a yellow high viz vest.

Essex Police are now appealing for anyone with any information about the incident - which took place at around 11pm on April 26 - to come forward.
A spokesperson from the force, said: "We need anyone who saw anything or has any dash cam, CCTV, or door bell footage to contact us.
"If you have any information you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
"Please quote the crime reference number 42/79014/21.
