TWO people have been arrested after a teenager was Basildon yesterday evening.

Officers with Essex Police were called at around 10pm on Saturday 8 August after reports that a 17-year-old has been stabbed.

It is believed the teenager received stab wounds after an altercation outside an address in Maplin Gardens.

Emergency services arrived and the teenager was treated for injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "An 18-year-old man from Stanford-Le-Hope was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

"A 17-year-old girl from Benfleet was arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker.

"Both remain in police custody.
