POLICE raided a suspected brothel near Basildon town centre following a tip-off from residents.
Officers from Basildon's community policing team attended the address yesterday after receiving a number of complaints from residents in the area.
The exact location of the suspected brothel has not been released as police continue to investigate.
The suspected brothel was empty when police attended, but officers were able to gather "valuable evidence".
A spokesman for the policing team said: "We executed a warrant on a suspected brothel, at an address near the town centre.
"This was based on information provided to us by concerned residents.
"Although the suspects were not present at the time, valuable evidence has been secured and our investigation will continue to locate those involved."
