A man has been charged, after two women were stabbed in Basildon.

Officers raced to the scene on Quendon Road at around 8.20pm Friday night after receiving reports that a man with a knife was heading towards the Fryth.

Teams used a taser to detain a man within eleven minutes of 999 being called, and the road was cordoned off.

Police confirmed two women, aged in their 50s and 20s had suffered stab wounds whilst inside a property on the road, and that criminal damage had been caused to a number of vehicles nearby.

Neil Crawford, 31, of Quendon Road, has been charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, one count of assault by beating, one count of assaulting an emergency worker, possession of a bladed article and 17 counts of criminal damage. 

He is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today.
