A MUM was harassed by a group of teenagers who told her they would ‘shoot her up’.

Jaydee Niall, who was walking through Pitsea’s market square at the time, told the Echo how a group of three boys followed her around the square, and into several shops.

The 54-year-old mum-of-three said the boys, who threatened to “shoot her up” were most likely aged between 12 and 14. She described how the situation unfolded on Wednesday: “One of them stood right in front of me, just staring blankly at me.

“I asked him what on earth he was doing?

“He wouldn’t let me get anywhere. He came right up into my face.”

Ms Niall explained that the three teens followed her into Greggs sandwich shop.

She said: “At first I didn’t pay too much notice to them.

“They stood so close that a woman asked me if I was with them. She asked them if they were giving me grief.

“I told them I would call the police.

“They then waited for me outside the entrance.

“I’m glad I didn’t have my granddaughter with me at the time.”

Jaydee continued, and hoped that this incident would make people aware of what they’re doing. She added: “They made gun gestures at me outside and shouted in my face.

“I kept asking them what their problem was.

“They just said it was ‘me’.

“They threw a bottle of milkshake at my leg..

“I’ve seen them before in Pitsea and in the Festival Leisure Park over in Basildon.”

She added: “Kids shouldn’t be doing this during half term.

“It’s just really annoying and frustrating.

“My daughter told me she has seen them causing hassle in other shops nearby.

“It’s not cool to harass people.

“I just hope that they don’t do it to anyone else.

“They target people who they think won’t give them anything back. It makes them feel big.

“I don’t get this generation at all.”
