A MAN has been charged following an incident where two people were assaulted, including a police officer.
A woman was assaulted on Cranley Road, Westcliff, as well as a police officer who had attended the incident.
It was reported that a man had forced his way into the property and assaulted a woman inside.
A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "We were called to reports of a disturbance in Cranley Road at around 12.20am on Monday.
"We attended and arrested a man.
"During the incident an officer reported being assaulted.
"Ryan Seymore, 28, of no fixed address has now been charged with common assault, assaulting an emergency worker, and using violence to secure entry to a premises.
"He has been due to appear at Southend Magistrates’s Court today (Tuesday 1 October)."
