CYCLISTS have raised more than £6,000 for a young boy with cerebral palsy.

A dozen bikers from Wickford rode from London to Southend on July 14 to raise money for Oscar Griffiths, of Athelstan Gardens, Wickford.

The five-year-old lives with quadriplegic cerebral palsy.

The money will go to getting him intensive treatment in Florida.

Neighbour David Webber, 54, one of the cyclists, said: “All the riders completed the ride safely, finishing together, with Oscar’s grandad Gary and dad Paul leading the team across the finish line.

“A big thanks to all the riders, supporters at the finish line on the day and more importantly, the generous donations with even some donations coming from as far as America. The money raised will go a long way.”
