Saved - The HMV store in Eastgate Shopping Centre, Basildon will remain open
AN entertainment store in Basildon will stay open despite previous reports of closure.
HMV at Eastgate Shopping Centre, in Basildon, was initially set to close last week as part of several stores across the country after it was bought by Canadian company Sunrise.
The chain went into administration for the second time at the end of 2018.
HMV's Twitter help page previously confirmed the store would close, however a spokesman for Sunrise Records has since confirmed the store will remain open.
The chain operated around 130 stores in the country, with just over 100 remaining open.
