A MAN has been taken to hospital after an assault in Southend.
Essex Police were called to an assault in Southchurch Avenue today shortly after midday.
A spokesman said: "Police were contacted at 12.15pm today following reports a man had been assaulted and injured at a property in Southchurch Avenue, Southend.
"The man, aged in his 40s, was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries."
"An investigation into the incident is now underway."
