ROOFS and chimneys in Basildon have been damaged by strong winds.
Essex Fire Service were called to assist at an incident after strong winds caused damage to the roof and chimneys of three terraced properties in Great Gregorie, Basildon.
A spokesman said: "Objects from the roofs of the properties were falling onto a public footpath, so firefighters immediately set up a safety cordon around the properties to prevent anyone from being injured.
"Firefighters removed loose materials from the roofs and kept the area safe.
"Fire crews left the scene at 1pm."
