The names of every at risk library across Essex were represented at a protest in Chelmsford City Centre.
Hundreds of people came together to oppose the council's proposed closure of 24 libraries across the county.
The council say that a saving of around £2million will be made as a result of the cuts.
Journalist, Tom Parkes, 40, was flying the flag for Coggleshall.
He said: “I’m here to save Coggleshall library.
“There is a lot of emphasis on saving this service for children, I haven’t got children myself but I commute to London and I get through a book every fortnight so I really value the service.
“I think of the substantial amount of council tax we pay, the library share of it must be tiny, so I feel it is one issue I should go and wave a banner about for.”
Here are some pictures (above) of what happened at Saturday's demonstration.
