Junior bakers helped raise cakes and cash during a school tea party.
Saint Pierre School, Leigh Road, Leigh hosted the event to help the school’s parent teacher association.
The annual event involves children from the school taking part in a bake off.
This year there were 50 entries all bidding for the title of best baker.
During the event earlier this month visitors were also invited to have a look around the school before special guests became judges.
The children proudly posed for pictures with their creative cakes and there were plenty of sweet treats on offer.
The winners were Zee Lawrence, aged eight and Shenay-Lily Mehmed, aged 11.
Headteacher Chris Perkins said: “The children designed and made their own cakes for the event.
“We had themes and these included our mascot Rocco the lion and there were also a few football themed cakes for the World Cup.
“We had winners for the best tasting and best looking cakes.
“We raised about £200 for our parents and teachers association.
“The children really enjoyed the event and came up with some interesting and great cakes.
“It’s a great idea as the children get to make the cakes and also help us to raise some money for our
school.”
The children who entered enjoyed making them and the guests enjoyed eating them.
