A CHARITY celebrated the opening of a new shop in Basildon.
Little Havens Hospice officially opened its new store in Southernhay with an event this weekend.
Visitors tried their hand at the teddy tombola and met the hospice mascot Betty the Butterfly.
Anna Wallis, manager of the new store, said: “It was very good, we had lots and lots of people come to the shop opening.
“We also had volunteers outside the shop with buckets collecting money; we are still counting up the totals.”
The shop is open from 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturdays and is closed Sundays.
