- We are live as the results of Essex County Council's Colchester divisions are announced.
- - In total there are 75 seats up for grabs on Essex County Council.
- - Prior to the election the authority was Conservative-led, with the party having 52 councillors.
- - The Liberal Democrat’s had eight and Labour six, and there were also seven non-aligned councillors, one independent and one vacancy.
- - In total there are nine Colchester seats of Essex County Council which are up for grabs today.
- - These are Abbey, Constable, Drury, Maypole, Mersea and Tiptree, Mile End and Highwoods, Parsons Heath and East Gates, Stanway and Pyefleet, and Wivenhoe St Andrew.
- -Lib Dem Anne Turrell, who represented Mile End and Highwoods, and Conservative Anne Brown who represented Constable are not standing for re-election.
- -There are four Reform UK candidates standing in Constable, Maypole, Mile End and Highwoods and Wivenhoe St Andrews wards.
- -There is also one Freedom Alliance. No Lockdowns. No Curfews candidate in the Abbey division.
