POLICE have arrested two people on suspicion of dealing drugs following a suspected drug deal last week.

Essex Police officers were called to an unrelated incident in Great Yeldham on Friday evening.

Officers reported seeing what they thought looked like a drug deal.

A search found drugs and a knife, with the male and female occupants of the car being arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled substance.

Later, police searched the man’s home in Sible Hedingham and found more suspected drugs.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Braintree officers responding to an unrelated incident in Great Yeldham, witnessed what they believed was a drug deal from a vehicle right in front of the marked police car.

“A stop and search found a significant quantity of drugs, cash and a knife.

“The man and girl occupants of the car were arrested for possession with intent to supply a controlled substance.

“A short time later we used our powers to enter and search the man’s home address in Sible Hedingham where we discovered another significant amount of suspected drugs, scales and ‘deal bags’.”
