THE mother of a murdered son says all she wants is “justice” following his death.

Jane Rochford’s 29-year-old son Kerrin Repman died after being struck by a BMW in Marine Parade, Dovercourt, on April 15.

Police have thanked the public for their help with the investigation into Mr Repman’s death but renewed their appeal for help.

A 19-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, has now been released without charge.

Officers still want to speak to Keith McCarthy, 40, in connection with the incident. Police are working with partner agencies to find him.

Police do not believe he is in the local area.

Ms Rochford said she is angry Mr McCarthy has not yet been found in connection with her son’s murder but says she said she still has faith in the police.

She said: “My poor son was taken away from us too soon. I hoped we’d have answers by now.

“In the beginning we were in contact with the police a lot and we have had meetings about my son.

“All I want is proper justice for my son following his death.

“His children have lost their dad.”

Mr Repman would have turned 30 last month.

“I visited his grave on his birthday, and it really knocked me,” said Ms Rochford.

“I will never get over my son’s death. I will learn to live with it, but it is not easy.”

She added: “He really was such a lovely fella - he was a legend, and always smiling.

“He was always there and helped the foodbank and the Salvation Army.

“He’s put his mark on so many restaurants in the area too as he was such a great chef.

“I am just so proud of him.”

Det Chief Insp Scott Egerton said: “We still need anyone who has any information about the incident, or those involved, who haven’t already spoken to us to come forward.

“Your piece of information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could be the vital part of the jigsaw.

“I appreciate incidents like this can cause concern to the community, but we believe this was a targeted attack with no risk to the wider public.”
