A VINEYARD has teamed up with 20 Essex wedding supplier to give an NHS worker the chance to win a free wedding ceremony

The NHS Wedding Competition will give one lucky couple the chance to win a wedding worth more than £26,000.

Among the team is the Tuffon Hall vineyard in Sible Hedingham who will be providing the venue.

The vineyard usually hosts plenty of weddings during spring and summer but due to the coronavirus pandemic many have been postponed or cancelled.

Now the vineyard, which is run by Pod and Angus Crowther, is looking to give a little back to the NHS workers who are putting their lives on the line to save others.

A spokesman for the vineyard said: "Pod, Angus and the team at Tuffon Hall Vineyard are thrilled that the wedding ceremony and reception will be held at The Cellar Door.

"The 16th century threshing barn is full of character is full of charm and character along with plenty of 21st century features. We look forward to welcoming the winning couple"

The vineyard are also more than happy to help couples who need to move their weddings to later on in the year or even in to 2021 due to the virus.

Rosie from Rose Decor Styling, came up with the idea and will be also be supplying flower arrangements for the day.

She said: “I wanted to do something to give back to the wonderful NHS. Working in the wedding industry I have a big list of amazing people I love to work with, so I put the feelers out and the response was incredible!

“I was inundated with amazing wedding suppliers offering up their services to a well-deserving NHS couple.”

The competition opened last month but won't close until June 30.

Couples can apply by submitting an application form on the groups website.
