MUMS bagged a bargain at a market designed especially to help parents save on childcare costs.

The Market for Mums, run by Rebecca Corridon, is usually held in Ipswich but expanded to Colchester for the first time.

Hosted at Colchester Leisure World, the market attracted bargain-hunting mums from across the borough.

Shoppers picked up second hand clothes and baby items.

“It was really positive, even with everything that has been going on which did mean we had some cancellations,” said Rebecca.

“We still had a good turnout and the feedback from sellers was fantastic.

“They did really well, one in particular made £150.

“Lots of mums supported our wonderful sellers.

“It caters to everyone from pregnancy through until about five or six, we have clothes for older children as well.

“We started back in 2018, had a market in Ipswich and hold one about four times a year generally and my plan was always to expand to Colchester.

“It is always fully booked and we had more than 80 stalls.”

The Market for Mums had been due to hold its Suffolk Baby and Toddler Show in April, but this event has been delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak.

It will now be held on October 25.
