FOUR men have been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Cordons were set up in the centre of Rochford, at around 10.30am on Sunday morning.

This came after police were called following concerns for the safety of a woman and two teenage girls.

Four men currently remain in custody.

A spokesman for Essex Police, said: "We are currently investigating reports of sexual offences being committed at an address in Rochford.

"We were called at around 10.45am on Sunday 15 March, following concerns for the welfare of a woman and two teenage girls.

"After conducting initial enquiries, four men, aged between 18 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of rape.

"They are in custody and await questioning.

"A number of cordons were put up around the area yesterday afternoon, and we thank locals for their patience and understanding during this time.

"We are at an early stage of this investigation, and we would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to our officers, and who has information about this incident, or nearby dashcam and CCTV from the previous 24 hours to call 101 and quote incident 382 of 15 March.
