A BRIDGE which has been under repair for several months has reopened – but with more work is still to come.

Hoe Mill Bridge, in Woodham Walter, has re-opened but with width restrictions.

The repairs are set for completion in May.

A Highways spokesman said: “We are pleased to confirm work to install a temporary width restriction on Hoe Mill Bridge is complete.

“The road has re-opened with two-way traffic lights to help support traffic flow over the bridge.

“The width restriction will be in place for a period of 18 months until longer-term improvements are made to the bridge.

“The restriction is required to enforce the current weight limit and prevent vehicles parking on the bridge.

“Wide vehicles are required to follow the diversion route in place.”

Essex Highways started work on Hoe Mill Bridge, between Ulting and Woodham Walter, in August last year.

It carries The Causeway over the River Chelmer in Woodham Walter, south of Ulting.
