HUNDREDS of suspected wraps of crack cocaine and heroin have been seized by police after they stopped a car.

Officers pulled over a Citroen in Grange Road, Colchester, after becoming suspicious about how the driver was behaving.

They then found the 18-year-old man had roughly 50 wraps of suspected class A drugs on him.

A bottle containing a suspected noxious substance was found inside the car.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of a noxious substance.

Officers then searched an address linked to him in Colchester and found a further 200 to 300 wraps.

The teenager from Romford has been released under investigation while officers carry out inquiries into the incident, which happened last Monday.

The patrols which led police to seize the drugs were carried out under Operation Sceptre - a specialist initiative designed to tackle serious violent crime.
