SAUSAGE slingers and award-winning butchers will prove they are a cut above the rest for the return of an annual festival.
Three pubs will be opening their doors for this year’s Harwich Sausage Festival on Saturday, November 2. Competitors will attempt to sling bangers as far as they can, before the pubs open for crowds to taste the wares of some of the finest butchers in Tendring.
Richard Oxborrow, a member of the sausage sub committee, said: “Tendring is home to some true sausage talent.
“Come and sample the fantastic wares of local butchers and help propel your favourite on to the national sausage finals”.
The festival will start at 11am for the “pre-meat” at the Hanover, in Church Street, followed by the throwing competition at 11.30am, which lasts 30 minutes.
The sausage testing will make its way from noon at the pubs.
