HUNDREDS of people braved the wind to raise awareness of mental health support.
Hope Festival was held on the West Promenade in Brightlingsea and guests enjoyed games, food stalls and workshops.
The festival’s name stands for Hold On Pain Ends.
The aim of the day was to create a feel-good festival offering lots of information and support for mental health and to promote success stories to encourage people to seek help.
Guests were entertained by live music.
Event organiser Georgie Dunt said overall the day was a success.
She said: “The day started off windy and a few of the marquees got ripped in the wind.
“But people were able to grin and bear it and it was a really good night.
“We had lots of people saying how they can’t wait until next year and there isn’t really anything like this.”
The event also featured inspirational speakers and therapists.
All proceeds will go to the mental health charity Mind, based in Colchester.
Georgie thanked all the volunteers for their hard work.
On social media she said: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported and helped out.
“I am truly grateful to anyone who spared time for the event and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
