A CAR was badly damaged after a metal hook fell off a lorry.
The incident happened at the Parkeston roundabout near Morrisons.
Terry Bush, 62, of Heron Way, Dovercourt, was taking a 22-year-old autistic boy to Bounceability, in West Bergholt, when the accident happened.
He said: “The lorry just went past. I don’t think they had even noticed, and I’m not sure which one it was because there were three or four foreign lorries. When I pulled over, there was a big red metal hook below the bonnet.”
“If that would’ve gone through the windscreen, we would’ve been dead now.”
Mr Bush will have to pay £200 on repairs to have his blue Ford Focus estate fixed.
He said: “I am upset about having to repair it but at least I’m alive.”
